What are the three stages, and from what age can my child use it?

The Skip Hop Zoo 3-in-1 Ride On Toy is one of the few ride-on toys genuinely designed to grow with a child from their very first steps through to confident scootering — covering three distinct developmental stages in a single product. It is suitable for children aged 12 months and up through to approximately 4 years, with three ways to play: walk, ride, and scoot. In Stage 1, the walker and wagon mode is designed for early walkers, motivating little ones to push and pull the toy along while the storage tub carries favourite toys. In Stage 2, the wagon's storage tub converts to a seat for ride-on mode, which is ideal for toddlers learning foot-to-floor motion. In Stage 3, the seat is removed, the adjustable handle is pulled up to standing height, and the whole unit converts to a scooter your child rides independently. It's the kind of grow-with-me toy you can introduce around 14 months and keep using for the next two or three years, right up until your child is ready for a standard scooter

What sounds and features does it have, and does it need batteries?

The Zoo 3-in-1 Ride On Toy features a button at the front that activates a headlight, melodies, a beep sound, and more fun sound effects providing sensory engagement across all three stages of use and making the toy genuinely exciting for children from 12 months. It requires 3 AAA batteries, which are not included. The sounds and light are activated by a single press of the large front button, making it easy for toddlers to operate independently. The adjustable handle is worth noting particularly for the scooter stage it raises to a comfortable standing height as your child grows taller, meaning the scooter doesn't become awkward to use as they hit 3–4 years old

Is it safe, what is the weight limit, and can it be used outdoors?

The Zoo 3-in-1 Ride On Toy has a maximum weight limit of 20kg and is not suitable for children at or above this weight. It has no brake, so protective equipment including a helmet, gloves, knee pads, and elbow pads should be worn during scooter mode, and it should not be used in traffic or on public roads. Adult supervision is required at all stages of use. The toy is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use on smooth surfaces it glides easily on timber floors and low-pile carpet indoors, and performs well on flat paths and footpaths outdoors. For cleaning, wipe down the surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap avoid harsh chemicals, and do not submerge in water. The toy meets ASTM F963 and CPSIA safety standards, and all Skip Hop products are tested to meet or exceed applicable international toy safety regulations. In Australia, always check your child is wearing appropriate protective gear before outdoor scooter use, and supervise closely on any sloped surfaces
